London Craft Week 2024

*Refiguring Nature: Antique to Contemporary Design* is an exhibition I co-curated for Mayfair Gallery as part of London Craft Week 2024. It explored how artists and designers, past and present, draw inspiration from the natural world, highlighting the enduring influence of nature on design—a theme made even more poignant in the context of today’s climate crisis.

The work of seven contemporary artists and designers—Billie Bond, Cameron Design House, Amy Hughes, Rachael Plassard, Charlie Schaffer, Kathleen Walsh, and Jan Waterston—was paired with Mayfair Gallery’s collection of antiques. Through carefully curated compositions, we demonstrated how historical decorative arts and nature inspire contemporary practitioners.

By juxtaposing the old with the new, the exhibition reimagined antiques—often seen as outdated or unfashionable—in a fresh, modern context that resonates with younger audiences.
